Danny was born and raised in San Antonio. After graduating from Jefferson High School, he attended the  University of Texas and received his BS degree. After completing residency in Dallas,  he practiced Peripheral Vascular Surgery in San Antonio for 40 years. For the last 28 years, he has resided in New Braunfels and retired in 2022. He and his wife, Anna Lisa, founded and developed Gruene Estate Wedding and Event Venue in 2013. Danny has been a member of Wurstfest since 2005, served as a volunteer for Oakwood’s Volunteers in Medicine Clinic, and the Sunday morning coffee team. He was also instrumental in initiating the annual Young Life fundraising golf tournament. His leisure time is spent playing golf, working out, yoga, and sharing special times with family and close friends. He has loved New Braunfels since his first swim in the spring-fed pool in Landa Park in 1956.
