Recognizing the critical gap in substance misuse recovery programs in Comal County, the McKenna Foundation helped to launch RecoveryWerks! in 2015. Since then, it has grown into a cornerstone of recovery services for our community.
Through daily, peer-driven support, RecoveryWerks! empowers teens, young adults, and their families on their recovery journey. In 2025, the organization introduced the county’s first state-approved Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program, a groundbreaking initiative that bridges the gap between inpatient treatment and traditional outpatient care. The new program ensures that participants can access the support they need while continuing to engage in school, family, and daily life.
