The CASA CenTex Young Professionals is a volunteer group for adults ages 21 to 40 dedicated to raising awareness, fundraising, and supporting CASA of Central Texas. Serving Caldwell, Comal, Guadalupe, and Hays counties, the group provides charitable and social opportunities for members looking to impact the lives of abused or neglected children.

Through trained and staff-supported Court Appointed Special Advocate volunteers, we advocate for the best interest of children who have experienced abuse and neglect in Caldwell, Comal, Guadalupe, and Hays.

CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to help ensure that every child in foster care is moved or returned to a safe, stable, permanent home as quickly as possible. CASA volunteers research case records and interview each person involved in a child’s life, including family members, teachers, doctors, lawyers, and social workers. They monitor the progress of the child and family and advocate for the child’s current and future needs in court, in school, and in agency meetings. CASA volunteers are required to meet with the children monthly. CASA’s independent evaluations allow the court to make better informed decisions.

Because CASA volunteers serve on one case and commit at least 12 months of their time, they truly get to know an individual child or sibling group. They provide sustained, personal attention to every child – just as every child deserves.

Volunteers can learn mediation skills and/or support with office or event assistance.

SBTA has a monthly speaker for our Elite Tennis and Education program. We are always looking for speakers who will share their wisdom with the youth in our community. We love topics the kids can apply to both their on-court tennis journey as well as their journey in life (Examples: mental health, nutrition, physical conditioning, college readiness, etiquette).

We pick up donations weekly from local retailers and have a need for drivers who are “morning people” and are willing & able to do some heavy lifting for us.

As a thrift shop volunteer, you may be accepting and/or processing donations, ringing up sales, or greeting and assisting customers to ensure a great shopping experience.

Opportunities include: tutoring, mentoring, program instruction, and facilitating activities.
