HELPING HANDS FOOD PANTRY

The Helping Hands Food Pantry is dedicated to providing easy access to healthy and nutritious food for those in need in the Spring Branch and surrounding areas. Their mission also involves promoting hope and dignity to residents by raising awareness of hunger in the community.

 

Each month, the Helping Hands Food Pantry, along with its 50 volunteers distributes around 15,000 pounds of food which benefits approximately 120 families.

 

Holding the belief that access to nutritious food is a basic human right, the food panty’s values include:

 

1. Respect, compassion, and honesty in all interactions and activities

2. Actively listening and learning, appreciating each person’s worth and dignity

3. Nutrition education and advocacy

4. Wise use of resources and creating new ways to improve services

5. Staff and volunteers and their diverse talents, backgrounds, and commitments

6. Excellence in leadership
