COMMUNITIES IN SCHOOLS SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS
Founded more than three decades ago, Communities in Schools South Central Texas (CIS) is dedicated to fostering success among K-12 students. Affecting the lives of over 42,000 students in 57 schools across six school districts, CIS is the only non-profit campus-based program for at-risk students.
With the support of over 300 social service agencies, churches, local businesses, and volunteers, CIS provides vital assistance in guidance, mental health intervention, tutoring, basic life needs support, and more.
Addressing the challenges of poverty, mental health issues, and substance abuse, CIS collaborates with educational institutions to connect students and their families to community resources to ensure safe and healthy environments.
